This program supports organizations that are responsible for holding festivals or competitions on a national or international scale.


  • For national events, the following criteria must be met:
  • Depending on the nature of the event, it must include the creation or presentation of original works and take into account emerging artistic trends

  • Participants must be predominantly Quebec artists and specialists

  • The event must be supported by a promotional plan with a national scope, the participation of national media, and the association with media partners able to broadcast the event or provide publicity on a national stage

  • For international events, the following criteria must be met:
  • Events must host artists and specialists from Quebec, Canada, and abroad, and provide opportunities for reciprocal exchanges

  • Event must be supported by a significant promotional plan including participation from national and international media, as well as other institutions or service organizations that can broadcast the event or provide publicity on a national and international stage

  • The amount of funding is determined according to:
  • The financial resources of this program

  • An evaluation of the application according to SODEC criteria

  • The nature and volume of activities outlined in the applicant’s business plan

  • The fulfillment of activities previously funded by SODEC

  • Artistic direction

  • An outline of programming for the next edition and, if possible, directions being explored for the following two years

  • Artist selection procedure

  • Complementary or professional activities being held during the event

  • Programming and activity plan

  • Promotion and marketing strategies, partnerships
  • Attendance:
  • Describe the evolution of event attendance and the audience profile

  • Involvement of local authorities and the community

  • National and international profile (participation of industry professionals, international press coverage, collaborations with foreign partners, etc.)
  • Governance (board of directors, organizational structure, code of ethics, etc.)
  • Budget and financial management:
  • Budgetary projections

  • Financial statements

  • Directions for financial management over the coming year and any new measures being introduced

  • Press kit
  • Master file, including:
  • Copies of the governing documents, certificate of constitution, articles of incorporation, declaration of registration, certificate of amendment and partnership or shareholders agreement (if applicable)

  • Organizational structures for the applicant company and, if applicable, any affiliated companies, including shareholders

  • Curriculum vitae of the applicant company’s executives
