This section of the program offers financial support to carry out a promotional campaign outside of Quebec for a rising artist in a target market.


  • Applicant companies must:
  • Be active for at least two years

  • Have achieved revenues of at least $150,000 over the previous fiscal year

  • Possess a management structure and the competencies necessary to carry out the proposed activities as well as the financial resources necessary to realize them

  • Have at least two Quebec artists, groups, or ensembles under contract, not including company shareholders

  • Applicant companies must present confirmation of either:
  • At least one tour of five dates dates or more in the targeted territory within the 24 months following application to this program

  • An upcoming tour of five dates or more in the targeted territory within the 24 months following application to this program

  • This grant can only cover expenses incurred after the day an application is submitted
  • Applicant companies must provide an accompanying promotional campaign budget of at least $5,000
  • The artists themselves may be among the service providers retained by the applicant company for community development work or the creation of promotional content for these campaigns.

Eligible Expenses

  • Costs related to carrying out a promotion or marketing campaign in a given territory, including:
  • Press relations

  • Web promotion and community development

  • Radio promotion

  • Targeted advertising

  • Pleasenote: the list above is not exhaustive and is offered as a suggestion, contact SODEC regarding any other specific expenses

Supporting Documents

  • A supporting statement presenting a history of the artist’s presence in the target territory and statistics pertaining to the evolution of their audience and sales within that territory
  • A comprehensive promotion plan for the target market, including a budget worksheet
  • A press review from the targeted territory for the artist in question
  • A contractual agreement with a foreign booking agent in the target market
  • A detailed tour schedule provided by the booking agent that confirms one tour in the targeted territory within 24 months of applying to this program
  • A contractual agreement between the applicant company and the artist
  • Declaration of authorized representative
  • Financial statements from the two previous years
  • Master file, including:
  • Copies of the governing documents, certificate of constitution, articles of incorporation, declaration of registration, certificate of amendment and partnership or shareholders agreement (if applicable)

  • Organizational structures for the applicant company and, if applicable, any affiliated companies, including shareholders

  • Curriculum vitae of the applicant company’s executives

  • A description of activities and accomplishments

  • Information on shareholders/directors
