Description

This section of the program supports the international activities included in a company’s business plan based on its development strategy for foreign markets.

Criteria

  • Applicant companies must:
  • Present an action plan for exports that encompasses the set of planned activities and company needs for the year

  • Indicate new export market development activities in the action plan that will be added to regular activities

  • Possess the management structure and competencies required to carry out the proposed activities and the financial resources necessary to complete them

  • Be able to allocate funds representing 30% of the approved export budget to finance market development activities

Eligible Expenses

  • The cost of round-trip economy class plane tickets to visit a target market or for foreign buyers
  • Accommodation fees in the target territory
  • Expenses related to producing promotional material developed specifically for a target market, including translation costs
  • Expenses related to promotional activities
  • External consulting fees for work conducted abroad and for the negotiation of agreements
  • Costs related to legal acts concerning commercial agreements abroad
  • Interpreter fees

Supporting Documents

  • Subject of the application and the requested amount
  • Identification of the applicant company, including full contact details, and resource persons
  • Signature of the organization’s president or an authorized person
  • Short- and medium-term development strategies and objectives depending on the standing of the company
  • An action plan for exports, including:
  • A description of anticipated activities and a detailed budget related to each market for all development projects connected to an artist, product, collection, or service

  • A detailed funding structure for each project emphasizing the financial contribution made by the applicant company, other governmental sources, foreign partners, etc.

  • Gross sales outside of Quebec during the previous year

  • Projected gross sales outside of Quebec for the next two years, broken down by year

  • Detailed targets for success by project and assessment compared to past results

  • Strategic and financial risk assessment (threats and opportunities)

  • Justification of the application regarding the development stage of the company in international markets, its short- and medium-term financial potential, and its associated cultural outreach
