Description

This call for projects seeks to maintain the quality of the artistic offer at a time when cultural activities should be resuming by providing creation and production organizations in the performing arts and multidisciplinary arts with the means to pursue their creative work and advance their projects. It aims to enable organizations to carry out in-depth work on their projects as well as all the preliminary stages prior to the presentation of a show, and to encourage the creation and production of artistic works in Quebec.

Criteria

  • Projects may include, but are not limited to, any of the following activities:
  • Research and writing

  • Development of staging, choreography

  • Creation of a work

  • Creation residencies

  • Scenography, sound and lighting design

  • Set construction

  • Workshopping and rehearsals

  • It is not necessary to have a guarantee of presentation to be able to submit an application; however, the evaluation will take into account the dissemination potential of the project
  • Applications can be submitted at any time before the project begins.
  • Regardless of the program or section, an application cannot be made if a funded project has been completed for three months or longer and a report on the use of the grant has yet to be received and approved by CALQ
  • Maximum of eight concurrent projects with CALQ per year
  • An applicant cannot present a project that has already been reviewed and rejected in the same fiscal year unless it has been significantly altered
  • Funding cannot be awarded for the same expenses related to a project that is already supported under any other CALQ program or by any other organization
  • Ineligible applications include:
  • Organizations receiving CALQ's operating funding

  • Organizations already receiving CALQ support for specific programming during the project period

  • Incomplete applications

  • Activities already carried out at the date of submission

Eligible Expenses

  • Costs directly related to the project

Supporting Documents

  • Completed application form
  • Copies of the organization’s letters patent and general regulations
  • List of the principal artists and collaborators associated with the project
  • Curriculum vitae for the principal artists
  • Detailed budget
  • Letter of commitment or invitation from a presenter, if applicable
  • Other supporting material
