Description

The artists participating in this program enjoy complete autonomy and define the objectives of their stay and elaborate the parameters and conditions for its realization in collaboration with one or more artistic collaborators from France. When they register, applicants must submit a letter of intent from the host organization that undertakes to offer them professional support during their residency and that specifies the nature of the collaboration that they intend to establish in conjunction with the project.

The residency is designed for writers and artists to engage in a two or three months residency, making available a suitable environment and the means to produce and disseminate their works. The program seeks to facilitate exchanges of durable ties between artists from Québec and abroad and promote the work and career development of Québec artists internationally.

Information of the host institution

The former Récollets convent is located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, close to the Gare de l’Est. A historic building dating back to the 12th century, the Récollets convent is today a real estate complex that includes a hotel tourism residence reserved for researchers and artists with rentable spaces for cultural events as well as other institutional venues.

The residence comprises 80 furnished studios-apartments. The size of the studio available to Quebec artists or writers varies according to availability.
