Description

This residence program, established in 1992, is reserved solely for Québec artists and writers who do not live in Montréal and wish to engage in a lengthy stay there.

It is intended to allow grant recipients to take advantage of Montréal’s very dynamic cultural life, which, year round, features major exhibitions, festivals and an array of other cultural events. The period of residence is the ideal time for research, creation and artistic renewal but also to make professional contacts related to the dissemination of the artist’s work.

Information of the host institution

The studio measures approximately 56 m2 (602 sq ft) with an 8-foot ceiling and private balcony. It is fully furnished (including washing machine, dryer and dishwasher), but does not come equipped with any specialized equipment. It is located in the Quartier international de Montréal (Old Montréal) steps away from the Old Port and McGill Street.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDIO AND RESIDENCY PROGRAMS DIFFER CONSIDERABLY IN DURATION, DEADLINES AND SEASON IN WHICH THEY OCCUR. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THIS PLATFORM FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES AND TO REVIEW ALL DETAILS ON THE CALQ WEBSITE.
