Description
This section of the program supports projects involving at least one intervention on a building, whether construction (renovation, alterations, refurbishment, new construction, enlargement) or, in the case of a heritage building, restoration. Projects can also include the acquisition of a building, furnishings, or specialized equipment by an eligible organization.

Criteria
- Applicants must have made an offer to buy or hold the property rights, lease, or occupancy agreement for the property in question
- A lease or agreement must be a minimum of:

Five years for funding under $300,000

15 years for funding between $300,000 and $700,000

22 years for funding over $700,000
- Eligible cultural infrastructures include:

Libraries
-
Archivesv
-
Museums, exhibition centres, or performance spaces
-
Centres for training, production, or presentation of the visual arts, media arts, performing arts, literary arts, or arts and crafts (see documentation for additional criteria)

Indigenous radio and community media

Indigenous cultural centres

Multipurpose centres combining several of the preceding infrastructures
- Eligible projects include:

The acquisition, renovation, or installation of furnishings or specialized equipment

Construction work (renovation, alterations, refurbishment, extension, new construction, recycling, upgrading to meet standards, refurbishment and reinforcement of remains of buildings)

Restoration work, in the case of cultural infrastructure located in a heritage building
-
The acquisition of a building or land for the development of eligible cultural facilities
-
Archeological procedures associated with excavation work related to a cultural infrastructure
-
Work necessary to maintain the integrity of architectural heritage for an archeological site (irrigation, stabilization, riprap, etc.), where required by the Ministry
Eligible Expenses
- Professional fees and costs related to producing surveys during the planning stage
- Professional and technical fees related to eligible work during the construction phase
- Costs related to construction carried out by a licensed entrepreneur or artisan, or a professional restorer
- Costs related to the acquisition, renovation, and installation of furnishings or specialized equipment
- Costs related to the acquisition and installation of furnishings and equipment to provide universal accessibility
- Costs related to the acquisition and installation of a fire protection and suppression system
- The cost of producing and installing a nameplate, if applicable
- Costs related to integrating art within the architecture and environment, where applicable
- Costs related to financing the project, in cases where funding is provided in the form of debt reimbursement
- The cost of acquiring a building and transfer rights (the cost cannot exceed its evaluation)
- The cost of acquiring land (the cost cannot exceed its evaluation)
- Costs related to archeological work
- Green building certification fees

- Financial arrangement for the real estate component

- The number of the authorization request from the Ministry to carry out construction (for heritage properties only)
- Any necessary authorization to be given by another ministry or organization
