This section of the program contributes to the growth of Quebec’s publishers by supporting their activities related to publishing, distribution, and development. It also supports the publishing, reissuing, and reprinting of categories of works with a rich cultural content. The program also aims to increase the visibility and develop the marketing of works by Quebec authors by supporting the promotional efforts of publishers in the Quebec market.


  • Financial support from SODEC cannot be used for projects that have already been completed
  • Editors must be up to date on the payment of fees due to each published author, according to their contractual agreements
  • To be eligible, accredited publishers must meet the following conditions:
  • They have sold, over the previous accounting period, works by authors from Quebec in the following categories: poetry, theatre, comics, novels, short stories, children’s books, social science essays, collections of songs

  • They have undertaken, over the previous accounting period, promotional activities targeting the Quebec market for works by authors from Quebec in any publishing sector (excluding textbooks)

Eligible Expenses

  • Costs related to promotional activities, including catalogues, bookmarks, promotional materials, display stands, press relations fees, advertisements, direct mail, websites (creation and updating existing sites), and participation in conferences, seminars, and salons

Supporting Documents

  • Completed SOD@ccès online application form
  • Declaration of applicant company form
  • A catalogue of available titles (a reference to a website is acceptable if it contains all required information)
  • Cover pages and copyright pages of published works from the previous year
  • Annex A – Table of sales for physical books sold by category
  • Annex B – Table of sales for digital books sold by category
  • Annex C – Promotional budget of most recent financial period
  • Samples of existing advertisements and promotional materials
  • A copy of the annual accreditation report submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Communications
  • Financial statements from the most recent completed accounting period of the applicant company and all related companies (if applicable)
  • Master file, including:
  • A description of activities and accomplishments

  • Copies of the governing documents, certificate of constitution, articles of incorporation, declaration of registration, certificate of amendment and partnership or shareholders agreement (if applicable)

  • Organizational structures for the applicant company and, if applicable, any affiliated companies, including shareholders

  • Curriculum vitae of the applicant company’s executives

  • Information on shareholders/directors
