  • Description: Each year, a collaboration between CALQ and the French Institute of Vietnam (Institut Français du Vietnam/IFV) enables a Québec artist or writer to spend two or three months at Villa Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City., The Villa Saigon residency program is geared towards artists working in all disciplines who are professionally engaged in contemporary creative activities. The residencies are designed to lead to some kind of public “repayment”. This is one of the jury’s primary project selection criteria and ensures that the residencies are integrated within Ho Chi Minh City’s cultural scene. Made up of prominent figures and professionals from France and Vietnam, the jury is headed by the Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City., The IFV in Ho Chi Minh City will provide logistical support. Description: The program allows writers and graphic novelists to participate in a two-month residency hosted in Québec and in Belgium, and to take advantage of the numerous possibilities to establish professional contacts in Montréal, Québec and Brussels., In Brussels, the Québec writer will be hosted by Passa-Porta, la maison internationale des littératures (Passa-Porta). The youth literature author will be hosted by Le WOLF, la maison de la littérature jeunesse à Bruxelles (Le WOLF) and the graphic novelist will be hosted by the contemporary festival Culturesmaison. The Brussels bookshop TULITU also collaborates to welcome Québec writers and artists.,
